I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) several years back and decided that I needed to make adjustments in my life. In order to get a handle on my MS, I made a change in the way I ate. I began eating food the way it was meant to be. Meaning, everything I ate was made from scratch or as close to it as possible, which is the way people have been eating for hundreds of years…until the era of convenience. This, in turn, enabled me to get a handle on my MS symptoms. This lifestyle change also led me to move from a stressful job in the restaurant business to a job working out of my home, which enabled me to take better care of my body – inside and out. After working from home for several years, I decided that my dad’s entrepreneurial side was telling me I needed to do something fulfilling.
“Simply Eden Bath & Body was started because I realized the so-called “soap” that I was using was actually a harsh chemical detergent that was irritating my sensitive skin. I decided that I needed to go back to the basics with my skin and back to the way soap was meant to be.”

As I delved into the new world of soap, I realized there was much more to it than just taking some sodium hydroxide (lye) and mixing it with fats to create soap. Each oil or fat has a different property which then creates unique soap for individual skin types. Some oils create bubbly lather, some create less stripping, and some create a harder soap. This then led to the creation of recipes that I felt worked for my skin. My long lost love of chemistry was now coming into full glory. Meaning, the entire process of soap making the way grandmother made it was actually a naturally-occurring chemical reaction that occurred right before my eyes.

Simply Eden Goat-Milk Soaps and Bath & Body products are hand made using quality ingredients without the harsh chemicals and detergents that store-bought products contain.  I make my soaps via the cold-process method, which requires at least a four-week cure period to ensure a mild, luxurious bar of soap.  I use goat milk due to its mild cleansing, as well as moisturizing properties.  All of my soaps are made with recipes that I have formulated, using skin-nourishing oils such as Olive Oil, Avocado Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, and even Hemp Seed Oil or the exotic Babassu oil.  In addition, all of the oils that I use are sustainable and do not contribute to the deforestation of the rain forests. I am very passionate about my soaps and body products and excited to try new recipes and ideas.  I also love making soaps that are fun and unique.  Try my soap cupcakes and bundt cakes, which are a fun and unique idea for a wedding or baby shower in which our guests can leave with a take-home gift of a “slice” of soap cake.  I look forward to formulating new recipes and expanding.  I encourage suggestions and would love to hear from you!
